Enhanced Services For Orange County Students

employU is now offering enhanced services* to Traditional Transition students and Pre-ETS students in Orange County.  In addition to Vocational Rehabilitation services such as Work Readiness Training, SelfAdvocacy Classes, Work-Based Learning Experiences, and Career Camps, grants through Orange County and Subaru have made it possible for employU to offer Orange County students additional services.  These services include travel assistance, vocational interest career assessments, industry specific certifications, and paid industryspecific work experiences.

With the increased availability of vocational interest career assessments, Pre-ETS students will also be able to receive Vocational Evaluation services to become aware of how their specific skill sets and interests translate into career paths in particular industries. All participants will also have the opportunity to earn a competitive hourly wage of $11/hour while gaining industryspecific experience that will help them with long-term career goals. During these experiences, students can complete industry specific certifications, making them more attractive permanenthire candidates. One such certification is the OSHA 10 certification, which teaches safety practices for highly skilled positions. Of course, the certifications will vary based on industry, but training support will be provided for each certification training.

employU is looking forward to being able to offer these much-needed enhanced services to the community of Orange County and would like to thank Subaru and Orange County, not only for working with us to make this possible, but also for supporting employU’s continued efforts to find new ways to assist our community.
