Helen Weldegiorgis

Position: Job Coach of Vocational Services

Hello, my name is Helen Weldegiorgis. I am a Florida native! Born and raised in Jacksonville Florida, but my parents are originally from Eritrea which is located in north east Africa. My work experience is heavily based in clinical/school ABA therapy for children with autism and other developmental and intellectual disabilities. I’ve also had plenty of experience in youth programming at the Jacksonville public library, working with children and families of all demographics.

My experience working has truly prepared me to connect and resonate with people of all backgrounds. It’s also given me so much opportunity to express myself in nurturing, creative, and artistic ways, which I’m so grateful for! I heard about the adult job coach position through Dena, Employment specialist at employU, and I have heard nothing but great things about it. I was connected to Dena through VA, because I’ve been struggling with typing due to tendinitis, and she informed me about an opening position at employU and how it would be perfect due to my condition. I was also really interested in this position because I know how stressful it can be to not have the proper support due to a disability or any challenge you may be facing. This compassion stems from personal experience, working with children with disabilities, and having family with disabilities. I’m super grateful to be a part of the team.

employU is an approved vendor with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) and we are happy to serve VR’s customers.
employU is a CARF accredited organization
