June Hardee

Position: Admin Support Supervisor of Vocational Services

Hello, my name is June Hardee. I was born and raised in Central Florida. As a child, my older brother was diagnosed with leukemia. Through programs that helped children with cancer such as BASE Camp, I was around many children who were in various stages of cancer, and this allowed me to develop empathy and acceptance at an early age. Thankfully my brother is now cancer free, but this experience made a lasting impact on how I treat those around me. I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a BFA in Graphic Design. While in college I would volunteer during the summer at a school in Orlando called Morning Star, which is for children with special needs. Right after graduation I then started to work there in their aftercare program as well as help in the classroom. Working with the children there, the majority who had Downs Syndrome, taught me a lot about patience and love. I myself have been struggling most of my adult life with my own disabilities and I found myself needing the services of employU. After being a client here I began to really appreciate the work they do and how much they help the community. When given the chance to work with them in helping the next generation I was more than happy to be a part of it.
