Russ Saunders

Position: Adult Job Coach of Special Projects

I’m Russ Saunders. I am the proud father of 5 (4 girls and 1 boy) and husband. I graduated from American
Military University and am also a retired Chief of Police. During my career I was very fortunate to participate in many specialty units from Marine Patrol to Investigations, K9 and SWAT. I am still teaching tactics to police officers today.

Aside from teaching, one of my biggest passions during my career was helping the youth in our community in their journey to becoming productive happy adults through coaching and mentoring. I worked with troubled youth as well as volunteering within the community at schools and with organizations for kids. With 5 of my own, there was always an opportunity to speak or volunteer in a classroom! I am so fortunate to be able to continue that work through employU! For me, one of my greatest accomplishments is playing just a small part in a young person’s success! Watching them achieve a goal and use the knowledge and experience that they gain to grow is so very rewarding. To see the joy on their faces and the pride they have in themselves is incredible. I love to spend my off time exploring the world with my amazing wife. You can always find us in some small out of the way place checking out the local sights and taking in the history of our beautiful state.
