We’re Turning 10 & Celebrating a Decade of U!

employU is celebrating 10 years of working to foster and expand a strong, inclusive workforce with job seekers, businesses, and community partners! We invite you to celebrate along with us!

Because of your support and generosity, we have been able to provide successful solutions and create opportunities for our local communities. From giving clients the resources they need to enter into the workforce, to finding fulfilling, long-term career paths for job seekers, to helping businesses build inclusive workforces with staff who add value to their team.

To celebrate this milestone, we are planning to expand our services by 20% throughout the state of Florida to benefit 4,100 individuals within the next 12 to 18 months. Your support would go a long way to help us reach this goal!

Additionally, the three-year Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation we earned this year will allow us the opportunity to hire more dedicated staff to increase the delivery of services throughout the state. CARF officially recognizes health and human service providers as demonstrating a commitment to being among the best available and meeting standards for quality of service. Through this accreditation, employU will build training programs for incoming staff from all levels of experience to ensure that each jobseeker receives the personal, dedicated service they deserve to obtain successful career outcomes.

We couldn’t do it without you!

Due to the impacts of Hurricane Ian on our communities, we are postponing our 10-year anniversary celebration.

More information on a rescheduled event date and time will be posted soon. Thank you for your support.

Celebrating our clients’ successes!

Josue’s Story

As one of our Executive Director, Keith’s (and employU’s) first clients, Josue knows how important it is to have someone in your corner to fight for your passions.  Though visually impaired, he was determined to make a career out of working with animals… and Keith shared that determination.  Together, the two found Josue’s first step, a job at PetCo.  Today, after almost 10 years of being a professional groomer, Josue continues to  flourish on his career path that started with employU.

Chase’s Story

Ever since he was a kid, Chase has loved sports. Though he would be unable to play professionally due to his cerebral palsy, he never let that stop him from joining in when he could and pursuing a career path around his passion. Today, he is the Community Outreach Specialist at his local YMCA and a coaching assistant at his former private school. He is a constant inspiration to everyone he meets and an important part of each organization.

Christian’s Story

Christian has always had an interest in working with animals. It wasn’t until he met his employU Employment Specialist, Susan, that he finally got the chance to do so. After completing an On-the-Job Training with Guardian Veterinary Medical Center, Christian was hired on full-time. Years later, he remains a valuable asset on Guardian’s team.

Clayton’s Story

Clayton is a young man whose passion for marine life fuels his ambition. Since his interest in marine environmentalism was sparked, Clayton has been working towards a career in the field. After completing an On-the-Job Training with Mote Marine Laboratory, Clayton was hired on full time where he continues to use his passion, skill, and knowledge to make a difference.
