employU customer Shawee won a car at the Career Source Polk Annual Draft event in Lakeland, Shawee was awarded a car after she entered a contest sharing her story. Shawee earned a degree several years ago, but despite her educational background she has been unable to find a job. Due to limited transportation options, Shawee was restricted to the Bartow area and after two years of searching for employment, Shawee was still unsuccessful. Moved by her story, Career Source gave Shawee a car so she could expand her job search radius and have reliable transportation once she was employed. The car will be modified to accommodate Shawee’s disability so that she can drive the car independently and she was also gifted six months of paid insurance.
