The Perfect Match: Keith’s Story

keith cleaning a seating areaOur client Keith has always found great joy in giving back to the community. He became an honorary Marine for his continued voluntary work with the Toys for Tots and Shoes for Tots drives, and also volunteers to stuff life vests for military and law enforcement. After attending the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind and participating in workshop environments, Keith came to employU looking for a different experience. He wanted to find employment where he could contribute to the mission of a company where he felt valued.

Keith and his Employment Specialist, Dena worked together during Keith’s job search. After interviewing for several opportunities, Keith accepted a position with F&R Professional Cleaners. Keith enjoys his job and feels that he is able to be productive when accomplishing his job duties. Keith does the high touchpoint sanitizing and disinfecting of the Jacksonville Public Library. He is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing everything from tables to keyboards to light switches. To help Keith adjust to his new workplace, Dena provided additional job coaching for the first two weeks of shifts.

Now fully immersed in his position, Keith has become a dependable employee who his supervisor, Renee, can rely on.  She comments on how polite and respectful Keith is in addition to being an employee with a great attitude who is always on time and does his job well. Renee and Keith aren’t the only ones who are happy with this job placement.  Keith’s mother is also ecstatic that he has found a position he enjoys with employers who truly believe in the individuals they hire. We too, at employU, are excited for such a perfect employer/employee match and are happy to have been a part of Keith’s venture towards a fulfilling career.
