It’s a Win-Win With ConTec
One of the biggest obstacles when entering the workforce is gaining experience in the field or industry of your choosing. Our Work-Based Learning Experiences are designed to solve this problem and give clients “a foot in the door” when it comes to pursuing a career within a specific industry or even a particular company…all while being paid.
One of our manufacturing partners, ConTec, has also found that our Work-Based Learning Experiences (WBLE) are a solution to training skilled workers as potential future employees. And because employU is the employer of record during a Work-Based Learning Experience, it is a risk-free solution for host businesses like ConTec. Working with employU for over two years, ConTec has hosted multiple Work-Based Learning Experiences. This summer they hosted clients Nick, Zach, and Kamren. All three clients have completed multiple Work-Based Learning Experiences through employU with other businesses in various industries in the past, but their WBLE with ConTec was different.
That’s because after completing their WBLE with ConTec, all three of the clients were offered full-time positions with the company. Nick and Kamren will be attending college while working at ConTec, and not only has ConTec agreed to work around their school schedules, they have also offered tuition reimbursement as part of their benefits package. Other benefits included in the package are health insurance, a 401K, and CPT Training. CPT Training stands for Certified Production Technician Training. This program aims to raise the level of performance of a production technician and increase productivity. The program includes individual certificate assessments in Safety, Quality Practices and Measurement, Manufacturing Processes and Production, and Maintenance Awareness. It’s a very valuable certification for employees to add to their resume.
ConTec is the perfect example of how Work-Based Learning Experiences are a win-win for both businesses and clients.
